Get involved

2008 Global Day of Action - How to get involved?

[Original text from the signature web site]

The Global Day of Action will be promoted by
all the organizations and movements
at the global, national and local level who wants to take part in it.
Each network, movement, organization will decide
how to organise their own action,
the issue, the form and the international connections.

All those who want to join the Global Day of Action can:
- sign the Global Call
- spread up as much as possible the Global Call to others
- organise their own actions, choosing their own issues and their own forms
- give the planned actions as much as possible visibility
- propose international connections for their own action (with groups from other continents)
- use the global common communication tools
- use their own communication tools to give visibility and strength to the global day How to use the common tools?

The common tools are aimed to respect autonomy and pluralism
of the Global Day of Action
and to give a global visibility to all mobilisations.

In a first step, we have mobilisation website (http://www.wsf2008.net)
organised by language, useful to enlarge the number of movements, unions and NGOs involved in the process.
In the web site you can find the Global Call in different languages
and you can sign it on-line.
Involvement of social actors can not come only from technical tools:
we need everyone to link and relate
with other activists and movements in all the regions of the world.
Spread information, talk with your friends, be part of the mobilisation process at international level!

In a second step,
we need to build our concrete mobilisations at the local level.
In this stage, through the website
everyone, at the national, regional or local level,
will be able to propose actions and to build alliances and coalitions.
Here also, this tool will be useful only with a process of real meeting,
contacts between groups, etc.

The third step will be the tool giving visibility to our decided actions.
To do it, we'll have a world map
on which all who have proposed actions will be able to post a comment or a presentation of their mobilisations, a photo, a video, etc.
